On December 12, 1901, Guglielmo Marconi received the first transatlantic wireless signal from Cornwall, Great Britain. The signal was in Morse code; 3 blips before the letter S. More than a century later, the distillery of a new Canadian whiskey was established at this historic site: Signal Hill Whisky.

Signal Hill Whisky is made from two types of grain. The corn whiskey is still double distilled by a two-column to produce a light and smooth characteristic. The barley whisky is distilled in the pot to create a subtle, brilliant, nutty or malty flavour. Multiple layers of flavor are retained through non-chill filtering, resulting in a fuller mouthfeel and a smoother finish.
Smell: A subtle scent of raisins, dried plum, sherry, toffee, vanilla, honey, soft oak and spices.
Taste: Sweet, followed by cocoa, leather and pipe tobacco.
Finish: Creamy sherry, syrup and mild oak.

Signal Hill Founders Select, de nieuwste Canadese whisky van Signal Hill, is nu beschikbaar bij Salud Spirits in Nederland en Oostenrijk. Deze gelimiteerde overproof whisky heeft een ABV van 56,3% en is non-chill filtered. Het is gerijpt op drie soorten vaten: Canadese whisky, nieuw wit eiken en bourbon, wat resulteert in een rijke amberkleur en complexe smaak van honing, vanille en gedroogd fruit. De Founders Select Overproof won een platina medaille op de 2024 SIP Awards.
Geur: De geur opent met een rijke, weelderige zoetheid van vanille, karamel en honing.
Smaak:De smaak is een zachte warmte die langzaam zachter wordt. Er komen noten van toffee en vanille naar voren, vermengd met een subtiele kruidigheid van kaneel en kruidnagel.
Finish: De finish is complex, met hints van sinaasappelschil en een lichte eikenhouten ondertoon die diepte en verfijning toevoegt.
